What is our Passion?

Our Passion is seeing people’s lives changed forever by having an Encounter with God 

Our Mission is summed up in 3 words:

Encounter.      Equip.      Engage.

Encounter: It is our goal as a body to help people Encounter God in ways deeper than ever before. To Know Him and Walk with Him afresh! Its our hearts desire that when you visit Encounter Church you will personally have a fresh encounter with God. Our church services on Sunday morning are being designed around truly honoring God. We long to bring Him glory as we minister to Him. As a result, we will encounter Him. A true encounter with God  creates lasting life change, and that is what we're after!

Equip: We are called to Equip the body to walk in our new Identity in Christ so that we may Manifest His heart and goodness to the world around through Words, Works, and Wonders. We joyfully believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are active today and we desire to know and walk in all that God has for us as His Bride in these days!

Engage: As the people of God who are Encountering God afresh, and being Equipped to walk in our new Identity in Christ, we are called to Engage the world around us as ambassadors of Jesus Christ. Through Words, Works, and Wonders, we will engage our families, workplaces, and communities with the good news of Jesus Christ to the end of bringing glory to God, and lasting change to our communities. We are called to impact the surrounding culture with the heart and love of God! We hope you will consider visiting this body, and being patient with us as we seek to do church and be the church God has called us to be! There is much to come and I look forward to this new adventure together with you!

What we Believe

The Trinity. There is one God who is eternal and makes Himself known in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-existent, co-equal and co-eternal; and are infinite and perfect in holiness, truth, and love.

God the Father. God the Father is the creator of heaven and earth. By God’s Word the world was created and is sustained. God created man for fellowship with Himself, and intended that all creation should live to the praise of His glory.

Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten Son. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and made salvation available to all mankind through His death on the cross and physical resurrection from the dead. Jesus is fully God and fully man. Jesus has always been with God, and is God. He will return in power and glory at the end of this age.

The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the person of the Trinity who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and who persuades us to accept Jesus as Savior. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer and leads the Church into all truth. The Holy Spirit unites believers in the Body of Christ.

The Holy Bible. The Bible is the authoritative Word of God, inspired, infallible and free of errors as originally given. The Bible alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths, and is the rule and guide of all Christian life and practice.

Man. Man was created by God in His own image–as male and female–originally good and upright. By voluntarily sinning and rebelling against God, man became estranged from his Maker. Man’s only hope of returning to relationship with God is salvation through Jesus Christ.

Salvation. Salvation is a free gift of God, available to sinful mankind through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus’ shed blood is completely sufficient to cleanse mankind of all sin. Salvation occurs when a person responds in faith by repenting of his sins and accepting Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit was given to Christian believers at Pentecost after Jesus’ resurrection to empower them to preach the gospel and serve the world. The baptism of the Spirit results in the gifts of the Spirit being expressed in the lives of believers. Ephesians 5:18

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit. All the gifts of the Holy Spirit that were in operation in the Church of the first century are available today, and are to be earnestly desired and expected. The gifts of the Spirit are essential for the fulfilling of the mission of the Church.

The Sanctity of Marriage. Marriage is a sacred union, ordained by God and recognized by the church and state, to be a life-long sexually exclusive relationship between one man and one woman.

The Sanctity of Life. Human life is of inestimable worth and significance in all its dimensions, including the unborn, the aged, the widowed, the mentally handicapped, the unattractive, the physically challenged, and every other condition in which humanness is expressed from conception to the grave.

The Resurrection of the Dead and Final Judgment. All of mankind will be resurrected from the dead at the end of the age–those who have accepted Christ as Savior to reign forever with Him in heaven, and those who are without Christ to endure eternal punishment in hell, forever separated from the presence of God.

Angels and Demons. Angels are spiritual beings created by God to help carry out His will, and to minister to Christian believers. The devil and demons are fallen angels who have rebelled against the authority of God and who attempt to hinder God’s will by promoting evil and confusion, and by distracting and tempting mankind. The fate of the devil and demons is hell and eternal torment.

The Church. The Church is the Body of Christ on earth and consists of people who have become genuine followers of Jesus by personally accepting Him as Savior and Lord. The Church exists to glorify God and to serve Him faithfully in worship, fellowship, intercession, evangelism, and good works. All Christian believers are an integral part of the Church and are to be a vital and committed member of a local fellowship.
